WHS Accreditation Scheme Snapshot: Scheme Growth Continues

The Federal Safety Commissioner’s WHS Accreditation Scheme Snapshot grants an up-to-date data analysis on a quarterly basis.

For the first time in over fifteen years the value of active construction projects being operated by Scheme accredited builders exceeded $70 billion. The number of accredited companies is not slowing down either, with 38 new accreditations in the 2021/22 financial year.

“As the number of total companies holding Scheme accreditation nears six-hundred,” began Federal Safety Commissioner David Denney, “it’s important to take stock of the milestones we are reaching as we work collaboratively with more and more head contractors to ensure Australia’s building sites are safe places to work. Approximately one-third of all construction work completed in Australia operates under accredited work health and safety management systems. While there is still significant work to be done to make sites even safer, it’s great to know the industry are on board and working with us towards a common goal.”
