WHS Accreditation Scheme Snapshot: Scheme achieves milestone!
The Federal Safety Commissioner’s WHS Accreditation Scheme Snapshot presents up-to-date data analysis on a quarterly basis.
In late March the Scheme reached the significant milestone of 2,500 Scheme projects since the Scheme began in 2006. This represents $168b worth of construction projects that have been covered by the Scheme. Federal Safety Commissioner David Denney said, “It’s worth taking note of this milestone, which clearly illustrates the substantial influence the Scheme is having on industry safety overall.”
The report also shows the continued interest in accreditation from new companies with 31 new applications this financial year. Audit results this financial year show that companies are still struggling to meet the Scheme requirements on structural alterations and temporary support structures, senior management commitment and emergency preparedness and response.
