COVID-19: WHS Accreditation Scheme Auditing Update
The Federal Safety Commissioner has announced an update to the operations of the WHS Accreditation Scheme in relation to COVID-19 restrictions. The temporary adjustments to audit scheduling are being adjusted in the coming weeks, in line with easing of restrictions by state/territory regulators following advice from the Prime Minister.
Scheduling of audits for non-priority accreditation applicants and low-risk accredited companies will resume from 8 June 2020; OFSC audit officers will contact companies to make arrangements.
Federal Safety Commissioner David Denney has said, “Health and safety of building and construction workers remains my priority, so the transition back to a regular audit schedule will be gradual. Importantly, all COVID-19 health and safety measures already adopted by my office will continue to be implemented as we transition to regular auditing arrangements.”
Resources to assist in the ongoing management of COVID-19 are available on the FSC website.
The OFSC will continue to assess the impacts of COVID-19 on its operations on a daily basis and will provide updates as changes to the way we work are required.
