WHS Accreditation Scheme Snapshot: $200 billion worth of building projects made safer!
The Federal Safety Commissioner’s WHS Accreditation Scheme (the Scheme) Snapshot provides data analysis on a quarterly basis. The latest report shows data as at the end of March 2023.
The Scheme has reached a significant milestone in the first quarter of 2023, with $200 billion worth of Commonwealth-funded building and construction work being completed by accredited builders. This coverage means that workers on these building and construction sites are working under work, health and safety management systems that meet the highest benchmarks in the country, with each accredited builder undergoing regular on-site audits that ensure compliance with Scheme audit requirements.
The highest rate of corrective actions issued during on-site audits during the 22-23 financial year to date (up to 31 March 2023) have been against the following categories:
- Health Surveillance and Exposure Monitoring,
- Senior Management Commitment, and
- Meeting Legal Requirements.
